CLASICE
Autoturisme adevarate sau de unde s-a plecat....
Pentru inceput Wanderer W22 1933, motor cu 6 cilindri, 1950 cm, 40CP....
The car was powered by a six-cylinder four-stroke ohv engine of 1950 cc driving the rear wheels via a four-speed gearbox. This was the same engine which was installed (albeit turned around with its drive shaft facing the front of the car) in the innovative Audi Front which was launched at the same time. As on the Audi, claimed maximum power output was 40 PS (29 kW; 39 hp) at 3,500 rpm. However, whereas the Audi received the larger engine from the new Wanderer 245 in 1935, the Wanderer W22/W240/W40 retained the same 1950 cc engine throughout its life.

Bugatti 57 (1937), 8 cil. 3400 cm, 160CP.
The Bugatti Type 57 and later variants (including the famous Atlantic and Atalante) was an entirely new design by Jean Bugatti, son of founder Ettore. Type 57s were built from 1934 through 1940, with a total of 710 examples produced.

Opel 8/40 Roadster 1928, 6 cil., 1916cm - 40CP.
The engineering approach taken by Opel was consciously unadventurous. The least expensive version between 1927 and 1929, the Torpedo bodied “Tourenwagen” was priced at 4,600 Marks throughout these years, which was inexpensive to make it the least expensive six-cylinder-engined car available in Germany.

Re: CLASICE
Multumesc!
Nu-ti dau nimic!” Sincer, n-am izbucnit in plans. Sa va spun ce masina gasisem la un batranel, un Zodiac-Zephyr! Era in 2 culori, sus era alba iar jos verde deschis, schimbator la volan, cutie in 3 trepte, bancheta fata-spate... o nebunie! Si va dati seama nebunie si mai mare, un pusti de 22 de ani la volan... Asta e, n-am avut parte.

Cadilac 7533 1938, 8 cil, 5700 cm, 140 CP.
The performance of the engine was impressive. Cadillac had settled on the 5.678 Liter version of the monobloc V-8 for all its eight-cylinder models except LaSalle beginning in 1937. Rated at 135 horsepower at 3400 rpm, the 5.678 Liter had five more horses than the 1935 V-8 and 10 more than the one-year-only 5.295 Liter monobloc. The Sixty-Special arrived weighing only some 105 kg more than a comparable 1938 Series 60 sedan, so its power-to-weight ratio was less than 14 kg per horsepower, quite good for the period.

Bmw 315 cabrio 1935, 6 cil, 1640 cm, 34CP
It was the first BMW motor car with a six-cylinder engine and the first BMW motor car with the "kidney grille" associated with the brand.
Two-door saloon and cabriolet bodies were manufactured, at first by Daimler-Benz's coachworks in Sindelfingen, and later by Ambi-Budd in Berlin. Ambi-Budd would also offer a two seat sports cabriolet for the 303.

Mercedes-Benz 540 k Roadster 1938, 8cil., 5400cm, 180CP
The straight-8 cylinder engine of the 500K was increased to 5,401 cubic centimetres (329.6 cu in), which aspirated by twin pressurized updraft carburetors, developed a natural 115 hp (86 kW). However, there was an attached Roots supercharger which could either be engaged manually for short periods, or automatically when the accelerator was pushed fully to the floor. This increased power to 180 hp (130 kW), creating a top speed of 170 kilometres per hour (110 mph).
Power was sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed or optional five speed manual gearbox that featured synchromesh on the top three gears. Vacuum-assisted hydraulic brakes kept the car under the driver's control.

Re: CLASICE
Superba masinuta....
Horch 853 Sport 1936, 8cil, 4491 cm, 120 CP.
The Horch 853 was introduced in 1935 to much acclaim from the affluent and famous of Germany. The car was opulent but was priced under the Mercedes models, and it quickly became a top seller in the luxury market. The car's advanced and innovative technology drew heavily on the Auto Union racing program and included a 5-liter straight 8-cylinder engine with a single overhead camshaft; a chassis with independent, semi-elliptic springs; hydraulic shock absorbers in the front and a De Dion axle at the rear. This car was a little heavier than its compatriots at 5,798 pounds, but it still offered 105 bhp and a top speed of 81 mph. The Sport Cabriolet coachwork was done by the factory in Germany.
August Horch began producing vehicles with Karl Benz prior to 1899, after which he began building vehicles under his own name, August Horch & Cie. In 1909, after disputes with shareholders, he departed from his company and founded Audi, which is the Latin translation of his surname. The production of the Horch automobile continued without their founder using his name.
In the early part of the 20th century, the automobiles began to appear less like horseless carriages and more like automobiles. The tiller steering and high buggy wheels became a thing of the past and the engine found its way to the front of the vehicle.
In 1926, a new model was introduced powered by a straight eight engine. This engine was used by the company for many years. Over the years it displacement size grew as did the horsepower rating. This engine was instrumental in providing the power-plant necessary to propel the luxurious Horch automobiles to quick speeds while maintaining a competitive price. As was the case with most early automotive manufacturers, Horch would either build the entire vehicle or merely supply the chassis for a coachbuilder to outfit the vehicle.
Horch was instrumental in continuing the growth of Audi as a company and on the race track. During World War I, the direction of Audi switched to producing vehicles for the military.
As was the case for most automotive companies, times were changing and becoming increasingly difficult to stay competitive and stay in business. In 1932, due to financial problems, August sold Audi. It became part of Auto Union. Auto Union was comprised of Horch, Das Kleine Wunder, Audi, and Wanderer. The Union was essential a way to continue production of automobiles while providing financial support necessary to fuel automotive racing and technology.
The Horch Series 850 featured the 100 horsepower straight eight engine, luxury, style and sophistication. The Model 853 was fitted to a shorter wheelbase and used a DeDion axle rear suspension. In an effort to stay competitive, The Model 853A became available in 1937 and featured a 120 horsepower straight eight engine.

Bentley Mark VI 1949, 6 cil.1, 4257cm, 130 CP.
Mark VI engines and chassis were modified to provide higher performance and sold to be bodied by selected coachbuilders as the first Bentley Continentals, the most expensive production cars in the world and the world's fastest 4/5-seater saloons.
This Bentley factory finished car was given the name Bentley Mark VI standard steel sports saloon. This shorter wheelbase chassis and engine was a variant of the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith of 1946 and, with the same standard steel body and a larger boot became the cautiously introduced Silver Dawn of 1949. The same extended-boot modification was made to the Mark VI body in 1952 and the result became known as the R type Bentley.
